Do you like running? Do you like fundraising for charitable causes? Would you participate in an event that both? If yes, then consider registering for an event at the Richmond Runfest. This annual London event has raised over £2 million for charities and community groups over the years. The event names a charity for donations to be targeted to each year. This year’s charity is The British Heart Foundation. But you may donate to any charity that you would like to.
This year’s festival dates are September 14th and 15th, which is a Saturday and Sunday. The first day will consist of the Kew Gardens 10k, in Kew Gardens, and the Richmond 5k Pirate Run and Kids mile races which will all be held at Old Deer Park. Day two events include the Richmond marathon, Richmond half marathon and the Nike Family Funrun. The fun run will be in Old Deer Park and the marathon course will run through Kew Gardens and end at Old Deer Park. Also, at Old Deer Park, the Richmond Fitness Expo and Music Festival will be going on both days. Spectators can check out the newest sport technology, fitness and health products and enjoy free, live entertainment. Vendors will also be present in and around Old Deer Park.
If you are afraid you won’t finish one of the races, especially the longer ones, there will be sweep marshals throughout the courses to help those who can’t finish. Close to 10,000 participants finished events last year. Find out more about the festival events at: https://www.richmondrunfest.co.uk.
